Become a Mentor

The Academy is committed to building the strongest mentor network possible. If you share our commitment to improving the lives of other correctional health professionals, we encourage you to become a mentor. Find out more about becoming a mentor.

Committees

Committees provide member oversight of the programs and activities of the Academy. Standing committees of the Academy are:

  • Education: The charge of this committee is to develop educational programming that reflects the needs and interests of our members.
  • Membership: The charge of this committee is to develop benefits and services that will help recruit and retain members.
  • Mentoring: The charge of this committee is to develop a mentoring program that will help put members in touch with more experienced correctional health professionals.

Board of Directors

The Academy's Board of Directors plays a vital role in establishing the vision and strategic direction for the Academy, and it assures adherence to the Academy’s mission, bylaws, policies, procedures, and values.

The Board is comprised of 13 persons who are members of the Academy – seven of these Directors are selected by the membership through an election process; three are appointed for their standing in the community or profession; two are from the NCCHC Board of Directors; and the NCCHC President serves ex officio.

Elections are held each fall, with a call for nominees taking place during the summer months.

Meet this year's Board members.
