Why a Statement of Values?
One of the biggest
challenges that an organization such as the Academy faces is defining
who we are and what we stand for. As our organization has grown since it
was created in 2000, new programs and services have been added to meet
the needs of our members. However, the guiding principles established by
the Academy’s founders have remained constant. As an abiding
expression of what the Academy's members believe, the board of
directors recently adopted a statement of core values. “A statement of values will help guide the Academy’s policies,
decision making and operations as it grows and changes,” said Michael Adu-Tutu,
DDS, MBA, CCHP-A (2005 chair) when he first tasked the board with
developing the statement. |
