Priscille Sobremonte
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
Vacaville, CA

Thank you for considering me for the Academy’s board of directors. I began my
career in corrections in 1998 several out of class positions and
initiatives. My professional affiliations include: member of the National
Association of Social Workers (NASW) 1995, active California Chapter of the
NASW Legislative Committee, member of Academy of Correctional Health Care
since 2009, active with NCCHC volunteer and surveyor.
I am running for the Academy’s board of directors because I believe in quality
patient care for all, first and foremost. As a professional in correctional
health care I have passion for patient care, one of my strongest innate
skills is patient advocacy, communication and coordination. Many of my
California colleagues work hard trying to care for patients, yet our system
is riddled with barriers, I want to be a voice for patients and correctional
colleagues. The goals I would like to accomplish during my tenure include
but are not limited to increasing the awareness and benefits of the Academy,
NCCHC, expanding the mentorship program, and advocating for NASW partnership
in correctional health care.
