Academy members have benefited from many new products and services
that have been implemented during the past few years. Much of the credit for these
advancements goes to the hard-working volunteer committees that guide
the development of the Academy.
Education Committee
This committee develops educational opportunities for our members,
including regional seminars and distance learning programs. It also
works with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care to plan
national conferences presented each year.
Membership and Recruitment
Committee
The membership committee is responsible for membership recruitment
and retention. In addition, it devises benefits, programs and services
to meet the needs of Academy members. This year, the
membership committee will consider the development of student and
corporate membership.
Mentoring Committee
The mentor committee works to establish a network of experienced
correctional health professionals whom new members can seek out for
professional advice and support. It also develops and implements
strategies to promote and expand the mentor program, as well as to
coordinate mentor-related issues that might be incorporated with
educational activities.
